Pez Dispensers

Cartoon characters are very popular Pez dispensers. Here is a Mickey Mouse Pez dispenser ... ... and a Wonder Woman one.

It's hard to imagine a school where students want to go to the principal's office. It's true in the case of Principal Kirk Hittinger, who keeps his office decked out with more than 550 Pez dispensers. From Disney to Smurfs to seasonal pieces, his collection includes some foot-tall dispensers that spit out entire packs of Pez candies.

Hittinger didn't plan on collecting Pez dispensers. He bought one for his nephew, who already had the same one, so he sat that one on the windowsill in his classroom. His students began bringing in dispensers to add to that one, and now he has a full-fledged collection.

Here is a quick tip for starting your own collection:

Look for rare Pez dispensers such as the Circus Ringmaster or the Space Trooper Robot. These do not have feet and can go for $300 or more.
