This Casper jack-in-the-box was made by the Mattel Company in the 1960s.

One of Mattel's earliest jack-in-the-box toys was Bunny Brand Carrots. It was made in 1951. It's in mint condition and is priced at $150.

This jolly jack- in-the-box, made by Mattel in 1953, has an unusual cylinder-shape head and is marked $175.

Bumble Bug was also made by Mattel in 1962. It's a rare design and is priced at $175.

The Flipper jack-in the-box was based on the 1960s television series and sells today for $125.

Winnie the Pooh is always a hit with the collectors. This one came out in the 1970s and currently sells for around $85.

Not all jack-in-the-boxes were made for kids. Some were marketed for movie buffs, like this Gone with the Wind Scarlette-in-a-box. It was a limited edition, made by Enesco and it's tagged at $350.

Enesco also came out with the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy in a Box. It's smaller and sells for $125.
