At the J&J flea market in Brimfield, Mass., host Ralph Kovel meets a dealer who specializes in collectible parasols. Their value is mostly determined by ornate handles.

These artfully designed parasols are a new type of collection in that they've virtually gone unnoticed. This is a figural gold Damascene handle. The Damascene technique consists of decorating iron or steel with wavy markings or inlaid patterns of gold or silver. It's priced at $795.
