Materials Needed:

  • pallet or scraps of pallet wood
  • spray paint: red, turquoise and white
  • nails and hammer or screws and a drill

Cut Wood to Shape

Cut eight pieces of pallet wood, each one descending in size. You will need enough for seven layers plus one more piece for the trunk.

Spray-Paint Alternate Strips

Separate your layers and arrange them into two piles, selecting every other layer for each pile. Lay out the wood in each pile and spray-paint in two steps. First spray-paint one pile of wood turquoise, then the other red (the trunk should also be red).

Secure Strips

Using a hammer and nails or drill with screwdriver, assemble the tree. Connect each layer to the piece of wood below it by hammering a nail or screwing a screw down at an angle.
