Materials and Tools:
black felt
scissors
black sweatshirt
black sweatpants
Steps:
1. Have the child lie down on the felt on the floor with their arms stretched out to the sides. Cut out the shape of bat wings along their arms, almost reaching to their feet.
2. Cut two long ties out of the remaining felt for around the neck and two short bands of felt to use as straps to hold the bat wings on their arms.
3. Sew the long straps about three inches to either side of the top center point (these will tie in front loosely around their neck) and the short ties onto the inside of the bat wings so the child can slip each arm through for flapping.
4. Cut the mask out of felt and sew, and sew felt strips (or ribbon) to the sides to tie it in place.
