Materials Needed:

• block-style stencils (ready-made or print letters from the computer)
• fabric
• decor items: pillow, towels or throw
• needle and thread or sewing machine

Create Appliques

Lightly cover back of stencil with spray adhesive then place on fabric to prevent the stencil from shifting while tracing. Trace stencil onto fabric and cut out. Tip: Experiment with layering different patterns and color combinations.

Attach Letters

Sew fabric letters onto decor item with sewing machine or by hand stitching. Tip: Make the phrases interchangeable by attaching them with Velcro instead of sewing. Also, letters can be painted directly onto item using fabric paint for a quick-and-easy update.
