Materials Needed:
- 3 pieces of wood: 2 MDF boards cut 1' x 1 1/2' and 1 thin particle board cut 8"x10"
- letter and snowflake stencils
- stencil brush
- crafter’s satin base coat (white)
- pearl-effect paint (light blue)
- antique-effect paint
- red acrylic paint
- spray glitter
- glue gun
- staple gun
- wood glue, Liquid Nails or any strong adhesive
Assemble Boards
First, attach a thin board to the back of the two shelf pieces. This stabilizes the whole project and makes it easier to hang later. Add a layer of strong glue under the board and then use a staple gun to reinforce the board to the back of the shelf pieces.
Add Paint in Layers
Paint your base coat. Next add a layer of blue pearl paint. Let it dry completely and sand just a bit.
Paint On Stencils
Once the base coat is dry, use your stencils and sponge brushes to write your message. This project was made using a stencil from a Silhouette machine but basic stencils can be used to create the same look. Peel up the stencil.
