Naturally Decorated Photo Album

For this project, choose a photo album or a large notebook with a neutral cloth or cardstock cover and good-quality, thick paper. Gather leaves as they start to turn rich, fall colors and look for interesting seed heads, grasses and other natural materials. To dry these materials, arrange them in a single layer between sheets of newspaper under a mat or piece of carpet, or place a couple of heavy books on top.

Materials Needed:

• 1 photo album
• variety of natural materials dried flat
• eco-friendly adhesive glue

Step 1

When your natural materials are all flattened and thoroughly dried, glue a row of seed heads or leaves along the top of the front cover.

Step 2

For each subsequent row, glue on materials that are roughly the same size in a pattern. Overlap or alternate some materials.

Step 3

Continue to build up the pattern by gluing on rows of colored leaves, grasses and twigs until the front cover is completely filled up.
