Materials Needed:

  • air-dry or oven-bake sculpting clay
  • rolling pin
  • ruler
  • clay tool or craft knife
  • baking sheet and oven, if using oven-bake clay
  • glue
  • small magnets
  • washi tape
  • Craft paint, paint brushes or permanent markers (optional)

Roll Out Clay

Warm the sculpting clay in your hands until it’s soft. Use the rolling pin to roll out a sheet that’s about 3" x 3" and 1/4" thick.

Cut Out Rectangle

Using the ruler and a craft knife, cut away the excess clay until you have a rectangle that’s approximately 2-1/4" x 3".

Cut Out Inner Square

Use the ruler and craft knife again to cut out a square that’s approximately 1-3/4” on each side. Clean up any messy edges with the craft knife.
