How-to: Zig Zag Table

Black and White Zig Zag Table

Tape: Vinyl 1"-wide safety tape in white/black, $4.50 for a 36-yard roll, uline.com; Paint: Tricorn Black by Sherwin-Williams

Materials Needed

  • zig zag vinyl safety tape
  • paint
  • large piece of cardboard
  • crafts knife

Step 1

Paint the table black. Let dry.

Step 2

Lay a piece of striped safety tape down the center of the tabletop.

Step 3

Run another piece of tape next to the first piece so the black-and-white stripes don’t line up, creating the start of a zigzag effect. Continue applying tape until the entire top is covered with a chevron design.

Step 4

Flip the table over, setting it on a large piece of cardboard. Run a crafts knife around the table’s circumference to trim the edges of the tape.
