Materials and Tools:
8-by-9-inch hand-woven cotton fabric
cotton bias tape in a complementary color
1/3-inch hand-woven band
sewing machine
thread
bib-shaped template
fabric marker or pencil
scissors
1. Draw around the template on a piece of hand-woven fabric with a fabric marker or pencil. Cut out the shape with scissors.
2. Zigzag-stitch the neck opening to stabilize the fabric.
3. Cut an 18-inch piece of bias tape. Pin the center of the tape to the center of the neck. Pin the tape around the neckline, sandwiching the fabric between the fold of the bias tape and extending it beyond the shoulders to tie around the baby's neck. Zigzag-stitch completely around the neck and tie area of the baby bib.
4. Stitch the bias tape to the fabric edges, starting at the upper corner at the neck opening and stitching across the shoulder, down the side, across the bottom, up to the other side and across the other shoulder.
