How to Make Wine Bottle Candelabras

Add ambiance to your entryway this holiday season using only repurposed wine bottles, black spray paint and tapered candles to create glowing candelabras.

Scrape Off Sticker Residue

It's likely that once the stickers are removed, there will be remaining adhesive buildup or residue. Run hot water over the bottle's exterior, then use fingernails to remove sticker residue or buildup. Tip: If the residue doesn't easily come off, add liquid sticker remover to the exterior with a dry cloth or paper towel. After a few seconds, the residue may soften and instantly come off. Use dry cloth or paper towel to dry the exterior of each wine bottle.

Add Spray Paint

Lay drop cloth out along a flat, well-ventilated, level exterior surface. Add two coats of spray paint to each bottle by keeping the spray paint can approximately 8 inches away from its surface, moving left to right in small, controlled spurts.

Insert and Secure Tapered Candles

Tapered candles can easily lean then fall off the wine bottles and possibly break. To prevent this, place tapered candles into the openings at the top of each wine bottle, then light wicks immediately. Wax will drip down to the top of the opening, creating a bond between the bottle and the candle and helping each candle stand securely upright. Heavy drips and buildup along the exterior of the bottle adds drama to the overall look. Allow wax to accumulate all the way around the bottle before placing together as a group near your front porch or entryway.
