How to Make a Woven Map Easter Basket
Make a clever Easter basket this year using paper maps.

- Atlas pages or maps

Cut Strips From Map
Cut 13, 1-inch wide strips from a map or 1/2-inch wide strips for thicker maps — they should be at least 11 inches long (image 1). Fold them in half for added strength (image 2).
Weave eight of the strips in an over-under pattern, four vertically and four horizontally (image 1). Carefully crease all the strips right at the edge of the woven center square (image 2).
Create Basket Walls
Take a map strip, and begin to weave around the four walls of the basket while holding one of the side's four strips vertically (image 1). Use double-sided tape every so often to hold the strips in place and when you reach the end of the strip. Repeat the vertical wall weaving until it is three strips tall (image 2).
