Scandinavian Ornaments
Materials and Tools:
wool felt or woven wool fabric
marking pen
scissors
fiberfill
embroidery floss
Steps:
1. Determine the desired shapes (trees, stars, circles, hearts, etc.) and draw them on the felt or fabric (you'll need two of each design for each ornament). Make sure they are at least three to four inches in diameter or they will be too small to work on.
2. Embellish the front pieces of the ornaments with names or just initials. Use an embroidery machine, create the designs by hand or use iron-on embroidered letters.
3. Pin the front pieces to their backs, right sides outside. Stitch the pieces together using the blanket stitch, but leave a space to stuff the ornament with fiberfill. Once it's puffy enough, finish the stitching. Leave a loop of embroidery floss to hang the ornament over a branch.
