Materials Needed:

• cream card stock
• dark red card stock (or color that coordinates with chosen patterned paper)
• patterned paper
• holiday sentiment stamp
• foam tape
• felt to coordinate with patterned paper
• dies for focal image and border (or can hand-cut or use punches)

• baker's twine
• dark red ink
• distressing ink
• corner rounders (optional)
• sanding block
• paper trimmer
• glue or double-sided tape

Create Card Base

Cut card base to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and fold in half. Cut patterned paper for card front to 5-3/8" x 4-1/8". If desired, use corner rounder to round lower edges of both patterned paper and card base. Sand edges of patterned paper if you are using a vintage paper. Using distress ink, lightly stain edges of card base. Finally, attach patterned card front to card base with glue or double-sided tape.

Create Card-Front Trim Panel

From coordinating piece of patterned paper, cut trim piece and mat layer for card front. If desired, create a decorative edge with either a die or a punch. Attach matted trim piece to card base. Note: Mat layer shown in die below.

Create Card-Front Sentiment Panel

Die-cut panel for sentiment and stamp sentiment onto panel. Using distressing ink, lightly stain the edges then attach sentiment panel to card front with foam tape.
