DIY Kitchen Art How-to: Ombre Cork Heart
Philip Friedman
Materials Needed:
- scrap paper
- scissors
- foam board
- crafts knife
- 6 paper or plastic cups
- crafts paint in red and white
- wine corks (about 170 were used here)
- hot glue gun
- stapler
- ribbon
Step 1
Draw half a heart that’s about 14 inches tall on a folded piece of paper, cut it out, and unfold.
Step 2
Trace the heart onto a piece of foam board; cut it out with a crafts knife.
Step 3
In six paper or plastic cups, mix red paint with increasing amounts of white to create six shades. Divide about 170 corks into six groups, varying the number of corks in each. Paint the tops of each group a different color. Let dry.
Step 4
Hot-glue the corks onto the foam board, and staple a ribbon to the back to hang.
