Creative Gift Wrapping Tips

Materials and Tools:

several rolls of wrapping paper, in colors to coordinate with your holiday decorations
scissors
clear tape
fabric ribbon
feathers, dried seed pods, dried flowers or other natural elements

Steps:

1. Using the box as a guide, determine how much paper you'll need by wrapping paper around box and cutting off excess. Tip: Always leave a few extra inches to ensure that paper seams will have plenty of room for overlap.

2. Turn box over, so the top of the box is on the pre-cut sheet of wrapping paper. Wrap paper around sides of box. To create a clean, professionally wrapped look, before taping sides together, fold the cut edge of the top piece of paper under and crease. Next, attach paper to box by adding a folded-over piece of tape to the folded-under paper edge. Repeat with the other two sides. By attaching the tape to the folded-under side of the paper, the tape will not be visible.

3. To decide how much ribbon you'll need, wrap fabric ribbon around box leaving several inches extra for a bow, then cut off excess. Tie a simple bow. Finish package by sliding a natural element, such as feathers, dried seed pods or flowers under bow for an added decorative touch.
