Alison, the homeowner, recently finished renovating his newly-purchased house, and now he wants to create a landscape that will complement his house and reflect his personality. Since he will be retiring soon, he wants a place that he and his grandchildren can enjoy. Landscape designer John Barry has designed a plan that will satisfy Alison's vision. The plan includes a Y-shaped, geometric pool with clean lines, plus fieldstone-stacked walls to define the yard, and a formal pool deck made of square-cut bluestone. These different architectural styles will create an eclectic environment that will reflect Alison's personality. A combination of azaleas, mahonia, cherry laurels, Italian cypresses and camellias complement the diverse hardscapes of the yard.
