Karen, the homeowner, lives in a new housing development but she's not happy with the basic landscaping package that came with her home. She wants a more lush, inviting space that will be an extension of her home. Mark Schisler of Legacy Landscapes has developed a plan that will add foliage and beautiful focal points. He creates an Italian villa ambiance by constructing a boulder wall that encloses the backyard. From the top of the wall, he builds a waterfall that flows into a pond at the base of the wall. He also adds a hot tub onto the deck to the back yard. His plan calls for a terraced yard, which will create levels. He installs grassy, Mediterranean-like plants as well as perennials.
