Hillside Home Base

Jennifer, Marty and their three children were drawn to this house because of its southern charm and huge front porch. The big deterrent was the backyard, which includes a very steep slope that rises nearly 20 feet from the edge of the deck. Landscape designer Lynn Mock designs a plan that will tame the giant hill; the plan includes two retaining walls, stacked stone, a pond and plantings.
