The homeowner wants a yard that doesn't mimic other yards in the neighborhood and also one that is appropriate for her small children. Landscape designer Charles Hodges with Charles Hodges Limited Gardens designed a distinctive plan that will offer recreation for her small children. He re-grades the slope in the front yard and builds a brick retaining wall. He replaces the front sidewalk with a flagstone walkway. He adds a brick and lattice fence and installs an aggregate patio with a flagstone border that will lead to a pool and spa. Boxwoods and perennials will be installed to complement the hardscapes.
