The homeowners have a house with a deck off the back that needs some work. The back yard is mainly wooded, and the area lacks comfort and design. They want an outdoor living area that the whole family can enjoy. Landscape architect Rich Kaldrovics of LifeScapes replaces the existing wood deck with new materials made from plastic and wood. He adds a decorative fence around the yard that matches the new iron railing around the deck. The patio, which is underneath the deck, is extended into the yard and leads to a water garden with a waterfall. To the left of the water garden is a new fire pit, which adds to the many uses the back yard will now have.
