The homeowners want to upgrade the landscaping around the house and improve on some of the mistakes made in the basic plan. Todd Guilmette of Unique Environmental Concepts designs a plan for their yard that adds curb appeal to their attractive home and gives them a landscape that is aesthetically appealing as well as functional. Guilmette removes a Bradford pear tree and other shrubbery that hinders the view of the house. Then, he plants a Japanese maple to the right of the front door as well as a new perennial bed. A paver walkway travels from the front of the house to the back yard leading to a new paver patio. A stone-block retaining wall makes the back yard more inviting and functional. Guilmette installs stone steps leading from the patio to the upper level of the yard and creates a play area for the kids. Plantings in the back give the yard a woodland feel. The homeowners now have a landscape that enhances the appearance of their home while making the yard a more enjoyable, inviting area.
