The master bath story begins with the shimmering mosaic glass tile, which inspired a tropical theme. “I always talk about things I don’t try to do and that’s a ‘destination house,’” explains Woodrum. “But in the bedroom and bathroom, it isn’t a destination but a mood or location.” To create that coastal yet not over-the-top feel, Woodrum focused on subtle touches. “You start looking at the elements in the room, like the shell texture around the vanity mirrors and the shells on the counter trays and the sand color of the counters.”
The glass-enclosed shower is its own tropical retreat. The glass-tile interior features streamlined Kohler fixtures, a small window to brighten the corner space and a seat that allows one to relax and enjoy a steam treatment on those mornings when time allows. His and hers vanities boast oversized mother-of-pearl mirrors, CaesarStone countertops in a tan-brown shade and more mother-of-pearl mirrors turned right-side-up and utilized as trays to hold folded towels, glass canisters and decorative silver starfish. Woodrum stowed triple-milled French soaps in elegant glass bowls, added additional silver sparkle with mercury-glass acorns and placed potted palms in hand-blown glass vases to add a pop of green against the clean neutral background.
