Harking back to an earlier time, the sweeping porch makes a grand statement as guests approach the front door. "One of my favorite areas of the home is the front porch," says builder Glenn MacKenzie. "I love porches. I remember as a child sitting on my grandfather's porch in the rain. I still love listening to the rain while sitting outside."
