<em>Aucuba japonica</em>

Evergreen spotted laurel makes a rounded shrub with shiny leaves and mid-spring reddish purple flowers; females carry red fall berries. Forms include self-fruiting 'Rozannie' and gold-splashed 'Variegata'. Water well and give liquid fertilizer in summer.
