Vine-Covered TeePeeEnlarge Photo+Shrink Photo-DK - Ready Set Grow! © 2010 Dorling Kindersley Limited

Morning glories are one of a number of climbing plants that quickly grow up and up if given a pole or trellis to climb. If you have the room, here is how to build a large flower-covered teepee — the perfect hideaway for summer games and adventures with friends. This project takes two weeks to complete.

Materials Needed:

  • sand or sticks
  • garden shovel
  • morning glory seeds (soaked overnight)
  • hazel beanpoles and dried-out branches
  • green wire or twine
  • large stones
  • clear plastic bottles or containers
  • watering can
  • liquid fertilizer

1. Plan Out the Base of the Teepee

Mark out the base of the teepee using sand or sticks.

3. Add Beanpoles

Place a beanpole into each hole and twist it into the ground. You can also push a large stone against it to stop the pole from wobbling.
