How to Make a Vermicomposting Bin

It’s hard to pull the kids away from the TV or computer, but what if you tell them you’ll let them play with worms? Seriously. Worms can turn your everyday kitchen waste into rich compost that plants absolutely love, and you don’t even need a garden plot to make it happen. You and your kids can set up the perfect little worm ranch right in your home. The residents won’t take up much space, and they don’t make a mess. Kids love feeding these useful critters, and the result will be “gardeners’ gold.” Who knows, this project might even make your kids want to eat more veggies and fruits. (You can always hope, right?)
