Gardener's Diary
More from the show

Elizabeth and Carl Jacobs uncovered many treasures when they bought their 1920s-built home. After 15 years, they are still working on their garden. Changes in the terrain and sun exposure dictated garden rooms. Plans for the rooms were started by observing views through the windows of the house to the backyard. Elizabeth's brother-in-law advised her to use plants as structures or walls for the garden rooms. Carl Jacobs' grandmother hybridized a daylily and named it 'Baby Catherine'. Veronica 'Giles Von Hess' is a new pink variety used in the border.
