Landscape architect Robert Bellamy created what he calls a compound that contains his office, home and garden rooms for entertaining. Trees create a dense screening around his oasis in urban Dallas. Outdoor rooms are created to be lower than the surrounding areas to help muffle street sounds. Bellamy says he believes that a change in elevation helps create a more intriguing entrance to a garden room. Almost all of his garden rooms are enhanced with found architectural debris. He designs mosaics and features them in his buildings and gardens. His vegetable garden is made up of raised-bed wedges creating a fan shape.
