From the Terraces

Virginia Israelit started out with a plan for a small cutting garden, but she got carried away. Now she has a series of terraced gardens on her hillside in Portland, Oregon. Besides interesting trees and shrubs and a mixed perennial border, the garden also contains palms, banana trees and some very unusual specimen plants. Whimsical containers (like a lizard planted with succulents), an herb garden and a greenhouse add enriching details.
