Gardener's Diary
Holly Turner and Ralph Hastings transformed 10 acres of thistle, junk cars and weedy trees into one of the most beautiful gardens in the U.S. Froggwell includes an orchard, pond, wetland area and a traditional English herb garden. Many different microclimates allow Hastings to grow a wide variety of plants. Whidbey Island in Freeland, Washington, has much the same climate as England. Hastings and Turner visited there and gleaned many gardening ideas.
