Horticultural writer and lecturer Erica Glasener graduated from the University of Maryland. Before moving to Atlanta, she worked at the prestigious Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, where she was in charge of the education program for nine years. Her articles have appeared in publications including The New York Times and The Farmer's Almanac.
