"I really wanted to hold it down because the story is really about the gathering room," says interior designer Linda Woodrum when explaining her decision to furnish the home's entry space with a sleek black side table, velvet-topped bench and slate-gray runner. An oversized tin-framed mirror reflects light and serves as its own subtle conversation piece.
