Victorian-era saloon interiors inspired both the family room's rich, vibrant color palette and design aesthetic. A scene or two from the 1994 epic drama Legends of the Fall may have had subtle impact as well, says interior designer Linda Woodrum. Velvety fabrics and casual-chic furnishings set the stage for festive gatherings, movie nights and board game competitions. Counter to the great room's quiet, inviting tone, "I wanted lots of color and energy in this room," says Linda. "I wanted it to be a pulsating, crazy kind of room where people could gather."
