Sleigh Bed

An antique white sleigh bed is flanked by flat-black sconces with cream shades. A bluish-green and cream checkered curtain hangs behind the headboard, and the bed is topped with large square throw pillows and a comforter, both covered with a textured canvas-like material.

'The iron sconces meet the need for his-and-hers lighting next to the bed, as well as adding a touch of iron that is repeated in the hardware on the dresser,' says Monica. 'I chose cream-colored linen for the bedding for two reasons. It suggests a restful night's sleep, and the subtle sheen reminded me of a pearl in a clam shell. The layering of pillows and damask fabric on the bed shout 'luxury' while ensuring that the bed remains the focal point.'
