Instant Rustic Storage and Style With a DIY Hutch
Adding a hutch to a dining area increases storage and displays beautiful serving ware, dishes, glasses, wine bottles and seasonal decor. This simple DIY hutch is made from solid pine boards and can be done in a few hours with basic tools.

Build the Box
Measure and mark all joints using a carpenter's square. Drill pocket holes with the pocket hole jig, two holes per end. Drill pocket holes on the top end of the sides, and both ends of the dividers, shelves and long shelf. Top overhangs sides by one inch. Use 1-1/4-inch pocket hole screws to build the frame, screwing through pocket holes.
Attach Small Shelves
Mark joints for small shelves and drill through pocket holes with pocket hole screws to attach shelves to sides and dividers.
Attach Base Support
Drill pocket holes on both ends of base support. Attach with 1-1/4-inch pocket hole screws to sides.
