Secure the Shelves
Use a nail gun and small nails to secure both shelves to the each leg of the console table. Shoot each nail in at an angle so that it goes through both the shelf and the table leg. Tip: Make sure the shelves are level before securing them to each leg.
Prime and Paint the Shelves
Apply one coat of water-based primer, then paint both shelves with two coats of semi-gloss, latex paint and allow to dry for 24 hours before placing anything on them.
Optional: Remove Existing Drawers
If the console table has drawers that aren't functioning as well as they should, consider removing them and using baskets in their place.
