This small 1930s kitchen was brought into the 21st century without compromising the charm of the architecture. Space was utilized from the basement stairway, the wall between the kitchen and the laundry room was removed, and oversized countertops were added to create a more workable area. The built-in bookcase, granite countertops and custom tile design--all beautifully illuminated with recessed and under-cabinet lighting became, simply, a work of art.
