This modern kitchen features a faux leather banquette on two sides (with a cushioned back and seat for extra comfort), fabricated by Evelyn’s Creations in Richfield, N.J., and a pair of George II Lucite chairs by Plexi-Craft provide ample seating. Calacatta gold marble countertops and backsplash set the neutral tone for the kitchen’s monochromatic color palette, a soft mix of walnut-stained wood, absolute black granite and mother-of-pearl, all tied together with milky white cabinets by FEA Designs. Over the island, a pair of wrought-iron Arteriors chandeliers with an oil-rubbed bronze finish cast a subtle glow. “I wanted to mix silver, gold and bronze to create a jewel-tone element here. Nothing glitzy or trendy, but timeless with sparkle,” designer Vanessa DeLeon says of blending high-shine finishes such as polished nickel faucets with antique brass hardware.
