Designer's Notes

The sitting room of this San Juan Capistrano estate offers a playful and contemporary nod to equestrian life with warm leather upholstery, equestrian-themed decorative elements and layers of rich color and texture. Aquamarine and blue faux seagrass covers the walls and provides a cool counterpoint to the warmth of the wood and leather tones. A wood veneer basket weave wall covering in the ceiling cove mirrors the warmth of the wood floors, adding unexpected visual excitement. Accents of aquamarine glass and ceramics along with a custom jade green rug from Atelier Lapchii and jade green silk velvet pillows add depth and sparkle.
