Circular ceiling designs cleverly break the rectangular study into two spaces: the foreground for sitting and reading, the rear for dining and games. A chocolate brown-and-persimmon Tibetan wool rug anchors the room, while sculptural, 7-foot-tall, fin-de-siecle bronze floor lamps illuminate the desk and sofa. An embossed English leather screen, c. 1860, helps divide the areas. ©Gibbs Smith, Barry Dixon Interiors, Brian D Coleman
