To add a rich, young vibe to this space, the herringbone wood floors were stained an ebony color and the cabinets in a white shade. Design tip: When dramatically changing the look of a room, look for easy shortcuts that will pull the room together. In this case, the formerly brass-colored sconces were spray-painted black to match the new ebony floors.
