To update this room, the floors and cabinetry were stained ebony and the paneling white, with a light beige tone on the walls. The black marble that was on the face of the fireplace below the mantel was removed and replaced with wood, which was also stained ebony. Design tip: Try installing an electric fireplace like this one. It's not difficult to do, and when you want a "fire," you just turn it on!
