The large opening between the living room and kitchen in this Capitol Hill loft was reduced to a sliver, leaving just enough room to keep eye contact with the guests lounging on the sofa. Upper cabinets were painted to match the color of the walls making them almost disappear. Concrete countertops, stainless-steel appliances and a back-painted glass backsplash continue the modern vocabulary throughout the apartment.
