Designer's Notes

Reusing some old doors and building new ones to match, along with custom-matched casing, make this mudroom feel like it’s always been a part of the home. The custom pocket doors hide a front-loader washer and dryer, complete with Carrara marble countertops for folding laundry. Stainless steel shelves and ice-box hinges and latches give this space a vintage feel. The green penny tile floor is an unexpected twist, along with the vintage metal-painted chandelier. Tip: Don’t treat your mudroom like an afterthought – we spend a ton of time in these spaces, so treat them like you’d treat your living room.
