Designer's Notes

The hand-carved stone statues add an artistic touch to the outdoor space. A decorative concrete staining technique using acid chemical stains allowed for tinting of the concrete plinths and nearby fire bowls to match the look of the aged statues. Knife edge on the perimeter overflow spa enhances the reflective quality of the water and keeps tiles wet full time so mineral buildup and cleaning maintenance is reduced. Dual fire bowls made from precast concrete are stained with acid chemical stains and filled with black lava rock.
