The center portion of the old driveway was removed and cut into large pavers to create a small courtyard between the main house and the new art studio (previously a detached garage). Joining exterior living spaces with hardscape creates a more unified site plan, and this solution utilized existing materials and allowed for drainage. Landscape plan was by Colwel Shelor in Phoenix. A wide-glass door entry system invites visitors and light into the interior space.
