SPG Architects’ Casa Torcida, located in the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica, uses low-flow and oxygen-infused plumbing fixtures to reduce water consumption in the house. As 100 percent of the water used is collected on-site, this is especially important. Locally sourced woods were used for the cabinetry, doors and window louvers, minimizing the distance materials had to be transported to the remote site. Photography by Charles Lindsay
