SPG Architects’ Casa Torcida, located in the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica, uses rich woods and a soft palette in the bathroom, reflecting the abundant flora and fauna native to the property. The house is completely “off the grid,” using a water-reclamation system to retain rainwater for use throughout the house. In addition, the house has a solar hot water system, which provides hot water for most of the year. Photography by Charles Lindsay
